Why it is important ??

Why group member is important?

Based on my experience.

Group member is really important in learning? why ? I gained a lot during the study especially on my last semester which I excel the most. 

Did you know that, group member helps you a lot. My first point of view is when you have a good communication and relationship with your team member, you will manage to get a very good result in your assignment. Every each of them have their own specialties for example giving ideas, sharing ideas without doubt, they know how to get information and many more.

It will make you relief when everyone give cooperation but also remember please do give your contribution too.

I hate sleeping partner or 'parasite'. It just very unfair for them to have the mark without helping from the start during the process completing the assignment.

Relax and sit back. be wiser when you choose your group member!

Individual task? What do you think ?

Disadvantages of Individual TASK

Even though individual task have it owns advantages but it also have drawback. Sometimes if you realize, you might face difficulties in completing your work. First thing is you might do plagiarism since you have lack of idea. AM I RIGHT? Individual task make you have limited of idea and also no team building or any cooperation with other person.

Have you ever heard about sleeping partner ? I hate them, they only know to get their marks, they don't give any ideas or contribution. How do you feel about this issue. Isn't worth after all you effort. What is your action peers?

When you are involving yourself in group member and you manage to have a good interaction. It shows that you are ready for real world.  As a students, you will recognize about ups and down during learning that involved group member.

As you can see, you will meet sleeping partner, parasite, dominant person, of course conflict happens.

Control

In group, someone need to be appointed to be as a leader. No exception since everything need to run smoothly. Despite that, as a leader the person need to control the situation in order to have a solution. Moreover, as leader he or she need to set a goal, agenda and carried out the purpose of the meeting. If not, there is no coherent in the meeting. They will feel disappointed or no giving any contribution nor giving ideas on the meeting.

Leader play an important role to control the meeting .

Conflict

The thing that you can't really avoid is conflict that always occur during the meeting. Conflict happened when the teammates arguing over an topic. It is important to avoid an arguments 

Communication

In any type of group, communication is very important, because miscommunication almost always leads to problems. In task groups, different communication styles can create a situation in which group members misinterpret messages and fail to have a true dialogue. So as a leader or any of group members, you need to tolerance with each other and have a good communication soo everyone will understand the instruction .

Cohesion

Being a member of a group with no cohesion or no sense of belonging can be very disheartening. Members may have difficulty expending a lot of energy in a group where members have no sense of connectedness or common purpose. Despite that, they will have low interest when they can't bond with each other. 

Consensus 

 Task groups are frequently in the position of having to choose between different options. This means that groups must decide, in advance preferably, how they will arrive at a final decision. One pattern that can develop occurs when a small group of members is in contact outside of the formal meeting and makes a decision.

Why it is in LEARNING??

What is Learning Task?

If I'm not mistaken! students are quite aware with learning task where they have been exposed since they in primary school until today? why today because as long you are in a community you will communicate and working with others whether without intentionally. 

Learning task is specifically for the students itself where they sometimes has been divided into group. Or without a choice they do it in individually.

Despite that, the thing that really concern here is where students should know what type of task is that and also who are the one that suitable to complete the task.

The are quite numbers cases where students having problems with their group member to complete their task. It is because  there is no harmony in their team for example sleeping partner and also 'parasite' the person that not giving any contribution in the assignment.

Cute enough haaaa???

It is important for them to choose the suitable teammate if not. There is no way to accomplish their task .

Here we go!

Not to mention! not only students that should know about group member but also society that connect with each other for example in working field. It is because to accomplish an achievement a production teammates need to share their idea, experience and other productive solution. 

In students life, they should be familiar with group member since they will involved for every stage in their study life. A part from that, when students familiar with the 'group' then it will easier for them to fit it. As we all know, everything comes with 'pro' and 'cons'

As is the case with many terms commonly used in higher education learning, such as 
critical thinking, individual task can mean different things to different people in different disciplines and in different required of them within their new context and discipline. Individual task is a process, a method and a philosophy of education in which a student requires knowledge by his or her  own efforts and develops the ability for inquiry and critical evaluation (Philip Candy, 1991). It includes freedom of choice in determining those objectives, within the limits of a given project or program and with the aid of a faculty adviser. Furthermore, it places increased educational responsibility on the student for the achieving of objectives and for the value of the goals. Moreover, individual task can be seen quite broadly to encompass a variety of situations and contexts where students are interpreting and scaffolding new knowledge and skills independently from those around them. However, this may include situations of group learning where activity may be 
collaborative and individual learning outcomes similar or different but each reached 
independently. Considered in this light, individual task does not need to be seen only in 
terms of learning in ‘isolation’ buy also within a community of learners (Forster, 1972).

WHAT IS GROUP MEMBER??

Greeting!  As we all know, most of the students are quite familiar about group task and individual task but no one know the right definition for each. So, here is some the right meaning for group task. 

Group is defined as two or more individuals who are connected to one another by social relationships. A group can range in size from two members to thousands of members. Very small collective, such as dyads (two members) and triads (three members) are group but so very large collections of people, such as mobs, crowds and congregation (Simmel, 1902). It is also defined as a group of people with different skills and different tasks, who work together to on a common project, service, or goal, with a meshing of functions and mutual support. Group also can be defining as networked where they are connected one to another. A part of that, group also can be divided into two which is primary and secondary. Primary groups form when people interact in significant, meaningful ways for a prolonged period of time. According to Cooley (1909, p.23) thought that primary groups protect members from harm, care for them when they are ill, and provide them with shelter and sustenance. Meanwhile, secondary groups are such groups that are larger and more formally organized than primary groups, and they tend to be shorter in duration and less emotionally involving. However, secondary groups continue do define the individual’s place in the social structure of society (T. Parsons, Bales, & Shils, (1953). Based on the category students can be categorized as the secondary groups.

IM So Not (to) The END :D

Here we go! there is always an end for every start. Week 12 is nearly approaching so it is the time to say good for this subject. First of all, I would like to say that, my view towards this subject has change 360' especially about media, how we observe a situation, evaluate them since mostly what's right are not necessary right and what's wrong are not meant to be wrong and it was so surprising that we are not supposed 100% agree with media. As for me the most weirdest part at the first place is when, every image that has been chosen to put in an article actually has its on meaning. Gladly that I would so that, critical literacy  was the great opportunity to study on.

At the first place, as we heard critical literacy been mention, it was really going to be critical and yes it was hectic at the first place. For example, the rules of 10 was so hard at the first place but with more exercise have been practice, you will get used with it. No doubt when it was actually very useful. My view at the beginning that I'm going to be dead. But yes I'm alive just with little bit with mental abused. The key to success in this subject is no procrastination. Did you know that I'm half dying during in the process to complete this assignment. I really agree that when our lecture said that we to start earlier since you have no short cut to complete this assignment. Plus with the test or quiz, reading is a must to pass on it. 

My recommendation on this subject is, I would like to say that, it would be great if the book been numbering accordingly so it will be easier for us to find the page on time. Sometimes especially during mass lecture, it will be hard for us to find the page especially the chapter need to go through page by page. As we all know that, our mass lecture is for only one hour and of course we need only to read brief through only. Moreover, the proper numbering page will make us to manage to catch the info that have been brief about. Next, to have some improvement for future, provide answers for every activities as we need the answer to compare the answer. This is not the easiest way but the exact answer will guide us for perfect view regarding on the questions. Plus, the thing that I really would like to point out is about the answer from the test that supposed from our own understanding not from the book. As we all know, critical literacy is not easiest subject and someone might fails on it. If the test answers are supposed exactly from the book, its look like we are memorizing the book not understand every each of the words. To have a perfect answer actually from our own understanding and the exact meaning from the book actually for the guidance.

Since it comes to the end, I would like to ask for apology during this class especially  to Madam  Yaya that always try her best to give perfect view during her class, during briefing about the assignment. Sometimes I do feels very guilty during her class especially my marks are not great as the expectation. I'm sorry, it just I hope that I will pass this subject with flying color and will used this subject for future. Who knows that I'm going to be one of the JOURNALIST :D

AN ACTOR ARE YOU?

Proposition : Life is a mere illusion and just like the world is a stage as we use it as a stepping stone for a showcase of our talents. Provide at least two premises or counter arguments for the proposition.

'Life's too short to wake up with regrets. Life is a stage of an actor. Life is a mere illusion. Life can be considered as the most precious give that has been given from our Creator, just all you need to do is to act it well'. 

Yes, I do agree with the proposition. Remember this quote 'Live your life to the fullest' . Life is an illusion because you are the one who walk on your path to you future because no one have the same future as yours except the death. In this world, life can be miserable when you build it in the wrong way, the reality that you have now, is what you view from your illusion. Reality and illusion is two different approach in your life. The way you want it happen is illusion and the thing that you having in your life is reality. Wake up! literately people always stuck in illusion when they are day dreaming. 

To accomplished something in your life, it also started with illusion. It will lead you to the reality. The same thing happen in our life, we need a plan for our journey. A proper life  actually has been organize by a plan.

Move on the next part where the world is a stage as we use it as a stepping stone for a showcase of our talents. It means that, to success in our life we need to use our talents as it is opportunities to live in this world. It was a lie when we does not meet any obstacles in their life, most people that have been through in tough life will more likely will be aware. To success in our journey of life, everyone need realize between illusion or reality. This is because, the person that are in the wrong way will only stay in their illusion

Think before you ' ACT '

 "The latest incident about BFM newsreader being threatened with death, rape and being burnt alive by those I assume to be Malay-Muslim netizens brings forth serious questions for this country. Is this country safe for our children to live in? If a simple point is raised against such issue as Hudud or even such as democracy and clean elections can produce outburst of murder, rape and burning people alive, what does it say about our country, its citizens and our leadership?’….(Professor Dr Mohamad Tajuddin Mohamad Rasdi)

Regarding on the latest issue whereas Aisyah Tajudin, has been threatened with death, rape, and being burn alive after she posted a video that has shocked the Malaysians and mostly Malay-Muslim due to her statement that mainly about Hudud and the harsh part when obviously she mention about Kelantan. She stated that Kelantan is actually face a lot of other critical issues such as regarding the fate of the flood victims which she claims those people do not have place to stay for three months, the misused of drugs and divorce cases are keep increase and also involving pornography. Aisyah also mention about using religion to blind people's eyes regarding other important issue as she mention in her video.

In my point of view regarding on issue above, basically Aisyah Tajudin itself has giving an negative comment on Hudud and the worst as she mention Kelantan. For her straight-forward video has lead to uncontrolled anger among the netizens. I'm not saying that I agree with the comments but to look on the other way round, she should used other other approach to comment on the issue. May be she thought it was not serious matter by doing the video but look deeply since she has gain anger mostly from Kelantanese. From the beginning of the video, she was being sarcastic and judgmental by condemning Hudud without knowing as if she is not one of the muslim. She should do some research before she point her view. As a muslim we know that Hudud is an Islamic law that supposed to be done in our country and we have no rights to condemn and her act was pathetically shameful not to herself but also to me as one of the muslim. From the video also, she was being so cocky and not aware that she is one of the well-known daughter and might also gives negative impacts on her father. 

Apart from that, the commentators also show how much they concerns about the issue actually. Not to agree with both of the party. As Aisyah mention about Kelantan of course she has started the fire on Kelantanes. If I were on of them, I do mad on this issue. But using harsh words are not appropriate ways to condemn her. On the video, it is true has been threatened  with a lot of bad comment whereas it set up a serious matter until her father has commenting regarding on the issue. Yes I agree with her father statement where we as muslims for sure need to look back for what we had study from the past especially in schools, manner does took place in learning. Different approach well indeed in this matter. Sometimes when you are so mad of course bad words will come out. I understand how does the commentators feel. They have the right to write but as long it does not containing any harmful comment as it is about someone safety.

Last but not least, both party are mainly wrong on the issue but mostly comes from Aisyah itself. Everyone have their right to writes their opinion, but think wisely. Words does matter in every situation. Think before you say something and being to arrogant does not help you even-tho how well your family background . Even thought how wrong she is apologize might be accepted in this matter as people grow up to learn from mistakes . Aisyah action to have public apology was a brave action whereas she admit and realize her mistakes

WOMEN + WHEEL = STEREOTYPING

Stereotyping is exaggerated generalization associated with a categorizing system, they go beyond the facts at hand and make claims that usually have no valid basis. However, it is also something that most people find difficult to avoid from doing. So, let's explore your sense of tendency to make generalization by expanding the following statement: 

'WOMEN SHOULDN'T BE BEHIND THE WHEEL'

Stereotyping, which could be define as a judgement that has been made by person without knowing them deeply and first impression could be one of the biggest example in stereotyping. For example, men and women could be differentiate how they handling their tasks. Stereotyping sometimes could pathetically destroy you.

Regarding on the statement above, women shouldn't be behind the wheel are merely is not an common issue. First I'm not disagree with the statement just not because I'm a woman but think deeply, world have change from century to century and more invention that human have gain. For example, as we can see clearly from manual car to automatic car which make our life more easier than before.

My first stance is, without a car it would be hard for women to mobilized themselves. Nowadays, as a woman we can't simply rely on one person which is men. They also have their own works to settle down. So why don't we used the the invention that has been made to make our life more easy. Moreover, with a car they can work more independently for example their can run their own business without hoping a driver or anyone else to help them. For example, IKS mostly majority run by businesswomen. 

Next, give a situation which is woman that have been left by his husband or dead. If the rule have been officially agree that women shouldn't be behind the car. Who will help them?. It's really gonna be hectic when no one helps her since she need to drop her children to school, fetch them and also nobody send her to the office. From the view here, we know that car are important too towards women. 

Lastly, regarding on the biggest issue that always come between men women, the percentage of car accident and mostly women always be blame by others. On the issue here, car safety is the priority and its also about action. Car accident could be reduce if their know how to handle their reckless in the road. They should know their own ability and most important they should know how to manage the risk and having habits that put safety first as they have been taught during the first driving class.

Regardless the topic, there is not stated that men and women have consume more on car crash but due to stereotyping, both gender usually occur regarding on car crash issue.

''You heard comments and maybe grievances from your seniors about CRITICAL LITERACY, but what is/are your expectation(s) or hope for this subject as you are just started''.

     Critical Literacy?, actually one month before I ended my semester 3, there were few seniors by that time make some rumors about this subject. It was really scared at the first place since I heard some seniors claim that they having Isomia and did not sleep for few days and the worst part when they said 'it's a killer subject'. As for me, the hardest part always start with the beginning. I know it is really a killer subject My expectation for this subject is I hope that I could manage to handle the assignments that has been given. Procrastination is not the key to success in this subject.
